China – Establishment of Emission Control Areas (ECA) (No.11) 26 December 2017 No.937 Download PDF (262KB) Members are kindly requested to refer to the recent Japan P&I News No.922 dated 29 September 2017.  We have obtained an update from Huatai Insurance Agency & Consultant Service Ltd., our correspondent in Beijing, China.   As per the notice issued by China Ministry of Transport on 2 December 2015, ships berthing at all ports within 3 ECAs (Bohai-rim Waters ECA, Yangtze River Delta ECA & Pearl River Delta ECA) are required to use fuel with sulphur contents of lower than 0.5% m/m as from 1 January 2018.     Please refer to the correspondent’s circular for more details on ports in the 3 ECAs.
