Adnoc send another tanker via Strait of Hormuz as crossings pick up pace in International Shipping News 12/06/2026 Another Adnoc-linked LNG tanker has crossed the Strait of Hormuz and is signalling its arrival in India. According to Kpler data, Umm Al Ashtan has re-emerged after going dark late yesterday. It is signalling an arrival at an LNG terminal in India on May 31 and is laden with LNG that it loaded at Das Island on May 15, Kpler data show. The vessel stopped transmitting its signal May 1 while empty and idling near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. It loaded a cargo while dark, as evidenced by the change in its draught level after it started signalling again. It then turned off its transponders again to cross the Strait of Hormuz and is now just offshore Oman heading toward its destination. The latest voyage adds to a growing number of LNG carriers continuing to transit Hormuz despite heightened regional tensions. Earlier this week, three other LNG carriers were confirmed to have crossed the Strait and are now sailing toward Pakistan and China, with all vessels linked to QatarEnergy. QatarEnergy and Adnoc have been among the companies most exposed to disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz, through which a 20% share of Gulf LNG exports passes.
