The Panama Canal has released Amendment No. 2 to the prequalification documents for the Corozal and Telfers Container Transshipment Port Terminals initiative, as part of its ongoing process to select concessionaires for the project. The prequalification process began with the publication of the original documents on January 30, 2026, and was subsequently updated through Amendment No. 1, issued on March 30, 2026. The latest amendment introduces a series of modifications aimed at streamlining the process and providing greater clarity to interested companies, taking into account questions and feedback received during the current stage of the procurement process. Key changes include adjustments to the document review procedure, clarifications regarding consortium participation and structure, revisions to documentation requirements for individuals connected to the bidder’s corporate structure, updates related to guarantees, and the addition of annexes covering transparency standards, legal compliance policies, and conflict-of-interest prevention measures. In addition, a new period has been established for the submission of requests for clarification, which will remain open until June 8, 2026, and the deadline for submitting prequalification documentation has been extended to June 29, 2026. All submissions will continue to be evaluated in accordance with the technical, financial, and legal criteria set forth in the prequalification documents and their corresponding amendments.
