American Club Circular No. 22/17 1 JULY 25, 2017 CIRCULAR NO. 22/17 TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Dear Member: AMERICAN CLUB LOSS PREVENTION TOOL: CLEAN SEAS: COMPLYING WITH MARPOL 73/78: NEW TRAINING MODULES FOR ANNEX VI (AIR POLLUTION) Your Managers are pleased to report the release of the final module of the American Club’s Clean Seas: Complying with MARPOL 73/78 web-based e-learning tool. This module covers Annex VI of MARPOL 73/78, Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships. The first module for Annex I (oil pollution) was released in May, 2016. Clean Seas: Complying with MARPOL 73/78 e-learning modules are specifically designed to be “user friendly” for seafarers, and are focused on the practical application of the MARPOL Convention onboard ship. Members are reminded that all e-learning modules are accessible anywhere there is a connection to the internet. This makes it easy and convenient for seafarers to study the subject matter before they join their ships. The system also includes a secure online testing facility. Members can track their seafarers’ knowledge and keep up-to-date records of familiarization training in compliance with both the STCW Convention and the company’s safety management system requirements under the ISM Code. All Members with owner entries in the American Club have access to the program via the website at: https://secure.idessonline.com/americanclub/facility/ Members who have not registered are encouraged to do so at the earliest opportunity. Select "MARPOL Annex VI - Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships" from the list of learning modules. 2. Login to "Administration/Training Records" as Super Administrator. 3. Click the "CHANGE REQUEST" tab. 4. Search for the User that you wish to enroll in the corresponding module. 5. Click the "Enroll" link. 6. Tick the "MARPOL Annex VI - Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships" from the list of modules. 7. Click the "UPDATE" button.
