Copenhagen-headquartered shipowner Cadeler has continued its expansion in the offshore wind installation arena with a new deal for two projects in the Asia Pacific region. The BW Group and Scorpio-backed player has inked a vessel reservation agreement (VRA) with an undisclosed developer, which will see one of its newbuilds available for work on projects expected to deliver energy to about 1.4m households when fully operational. The newbuild of the so-called M-class is one of six units that will be joining Cadeler’s fleet in the coming years, in addition to the recently delivered P-class jackup installation vessel Wind Peak. “The Asia Pacific market has significant growth potential and is of great interest to Cadeler. Expanding our presence in that market with this VRA aligns with our global business strategy,” said Mikkel Gleerup, CEO of Cadeler.
