Hutchison London Thamesport has reduced its Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) for import laden containers in August 2026. The surcharge has been lowered to GBP 4.74 per import laden container. London Thamesport introduced the EFS on 1 June 2026 at GBP 5.25 per container. The charge remained at the same level in July. London Thamesport lowers EFS to GBP 4.74 The port said the Emergency Fuel Surcharge reflects changes in diesel costs. The charge is levied on the customs declarant and applies to import laden containers. For August, the EFS has been reduced by GBP 0.51 per container compared with the June and July rate. London Thamesport reviews the surcharge monthly as fuel costs change. The port will continue to monitor diesel prices and plans another review on or around 15 August 2026.
