Karaikal Port handles 12.43 million tonnes of cargo in 2025-26 in Port News 27/06/2026 Karaikal Port Pvt. Ltd. (KPPL), a part of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ), hosted its annual trade meet 2026 in Puducherry recently, bringing together customers, trade partners, marine stakeholders, and senior government officials under the theme “accelerating regional trade and logistics efficiency through integrated port led development.” K. Kailashnathan, Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, inaugurated the event. Sharat Chauhan, Chief Secretary, Puducherry; Chaudhary Yasim Mohammed, Port Secretary; and Vikranth Raja, Industries Secretary; participated. Sachin Srivastava, Chief Operating Officer, Karaikal Port, who termed 2025-26 as a year of milestones, said the port achieved annual throughput of 12.43 million tonnes powered by record volumes across coal, fertilizers, iron ore, limestone, and others. Rail evacuation touched an all-time high of 2,732 rakes, reinforcing Karaikal Port’s position as a seamlessly connected, hinterland-ready gateway on India’s eastern coast.
