Image Credit: Daphne Daphne Technology said its PureMetrics emissions monitoring solution has received a statement of compliance from classification society DNV for direct CO2 measurement under EU MRV reporting rules. The assessment was based on onboard testing aboard a commercially operating dual-fuel vessel, Daphne said in an email statement on Tuesday . DNV confirmed the solution’s suitability for method D emissions reporting, subject to vessel-specific approval and verifier acceptance. Daphne said PureMetrics enables shipowners and charterers to accurately measure and report exhaust gas emissions, including direct reporting to EU MRV and IMO DCS frameworks. The company added that direct emissions measurement could help operators improve reporting accuracy as the EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime regulations increase the financial impact of emissions data quality. "Direct measurement has seen limited adoption partly because the path from technical readiness to regulatory acceptance has been unclear," Ivan Raleff , Managing Director of Daphne Technology, said.
