In a rare asset play for Sinokor Merchant Marine, the Korean company has pocketed a swift $3m from a cape it picked up last November. Sinokor bought the 2009-built, 170,000 dwt Genco Commodus four months ago from Genco for $19.5m. The ship was delivered in January and changed name to Enco Ommodus. It has now changed hands and name again – sold to China’s Agricore for $22.5m and rechristened ASL Loong. Agricore added another cape in November from Antwerp-based Bocimar, the 178,000 dwt, ASL Polaris, ex-Mineral Ningbo (built 2009), for some $20m. Values for bulkers have been going from strength to strength this year, up across all ages and size categories with capesizes leading the way.
