New Queuing Process for Container Vessels Bound For Ports of LA/Long Beach Publications Steamship Mutual Published: December 15, 2021 Contact author Download article pdf Attached is a circular published by the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association, Pacific Maritime Association and Marine Exchange of Southern California regarding changes to the queuing procedures for container vessels calling at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, California, and which is effective Nov 16, 2021 but will not apply to vessels currently in the arrival queue to the ports. The new process calls for each vessel to be assigned a place in the arrival queue based on the vessel’s departure time from its last port of call, and requires vessels to wait for an available berth approximately 150 miles off the California coast.
