A merican Club Circular No. 16/18 1 MAY 21, 2018 CIRCULAR NO. 16/18 TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Dear Member: THE AMERICAN CLUB’S DEDICATED EMERGENCY RESPONSE TELEPHONE LINE In order to enhance existing claims service connectivity between your Managers and Members of the Club, a dedicated emergency response telephone line is being introduced. This line will be manned around the clock by senior personnel from the Managers’ staff. It is available in the event of a major casualty (e.g. pollution, sinking, grounding, collision, engine breakdown or loss of life/serious injury/illness) arising anytime and anywhere in the world. The number for this emergency response line is: +1-212-847-4590 This number should also be listed by Members in their respective Vessel Response Plans as the Club’s emergency contact number pursuant to any local regulations to which they might be subject. It should also be noted that the section of the Club’s website entitled 24/7/365 Emergency Response has been updated to reflect the implementation of this new protocol. In order to report incidents, Members are advised to contact the Managers’ nearest regional office during its normal business hours. Outside normal business hours, Members are encouraged to report new incidents to their usual contact within the Managers’ staff at the designated after-hour contact details set out on the Club’s website and in its List of Correspondents. If Members are unable to reach their usual contact person during – or after – office hours, they can call the emergency response number listed above. Members are requested to note these changes, and should not hesitate to contact the Managers if they have any questions in regard to this Circular, or generally. Yours faithfully, Joseph E.M. Hughes, Chairman & CEO Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc., Managers for THE AMERICAN CLUB
