Diversified UK shipowner Union Maritime has further beefed up its tanker orderbook with handysize product carrier newbuilds in China. The Laurent Cadji-led outfit has booked four 24,200 dwt units at the restructured yard Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Company (DSOC), formerly known as DSIC Offshore. Shipbuilding sources estimate each newbuild, Union expects for delivery in 2026, at about $30m. Founded in 2006, the London-based company lists a fleet of 115 ships on its website, comprising tankers, bulk carriers, offshore support vessels, and 49 ships under construction, which will be delivered between 2025 and 2027. DSOC was officially launched in September 2023.
