BWM News Home News IMO statutory approval of Ballast Water Management Systems using active substances Jun. 4 2021 LinkedIn Twitter Facebook share On behalf of the Liberian Registry, Bureau Veritas has successfully carried out the review of submission for the Final approval (IMO G9)(1) of the Ballast Water Management Systems NK-O3 BlueBallast II Plus and SeaCURE® that make use of active substances(2) to IMO MEPC 75. With this approval, Bureau Veritas is completing its range of offer for BWMS certification, covering class and IMO statutory approval (BWMS Code), for issuance of statutory certification by ship’s Flag State Administration. Contact our Equipment & Materials Certification department to know more Procedure (G9) consists of a two-tier process – Basic and Final Approval – to ensure that the ballast water management system does not pose unreasonable risk to the environment, human health, property or resources. Substance or organism that has an action (chemical or biological) on or against harmful aquatic organisms and pathogen (e.g. chlorine).
