China-Properly Fly the Port State Flag to Avoid Administrative Penalties Recently a number of vessels were punished by the MSA for failing to fly, improperly flying, or flying damaged or defined National Flag of the People’s Republic of China. Vessels need to fly the Chinese National Flag of the corresponding dimensions according to the size of the vessel, at appropriate time and place. It is suggested that the responsible crew members on board to carry out necessary training to familialise them with the requirements and that ships promptly check whether they are equipped with standard Chinese National Flag prior to entering Chinese waters.   We have obtained information on laws and regulations, legal basis of administrative penalty and suggestions to ship owners by Huatai Insurance Agency & Consultant Service Ltd..
