Norwegian investor Christen Sveaas has taken the reins at Norwegian OSV player Siem Offshore. Sveaas has become the chairman of the Oslo-listed company following the exit of its founder and now ex-chairman, Kristian Siem. The tycoon, via his investment vehicle Kistefos, bought into Siem Offshore in May 2022, becoming the company’s second-largest shareholder with a 33% stake. Earlier this year, Siem struck a deal for 35% of his shareholding in Siem Offshore in exchange for nine vessels. The company, at the time, listed 26 OSVs in its fleet. Siem’s ships, which include two offshore subsea construction vessels (OSCVs) Siem Barracuda and Siem Stingray; four platform supply vessels Siem Pilot, Siem Pride, Siem Symphony and Siem Thiima; and three anchor handling tug supply units Siem Opal, Siem Pearl and Siem Topaz, will stay under Siem Offshore’s management for at least a year after delivery expected in July. In addition to Siem Offshore, Sveaas, among others, controls Norwegian dry bulk operator Western Bulk, Sweden’s Viking Supply Ships and has a stake in restructured Solstad. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway
