To ensure environmental conservation, water resource sustainability, and the integrity of the Panama Canal operations, the Panama Canal Authority informs that unauthorized extraction of water from the southern end of Cocoli and Miraflores Locks to the northern end of Agua Clara and Gatun Locks is strictly prohibited. Similarly, this prohibition applies to the discharge of sewage (treated or untreated), ballast water, oily bilge water, solid waste, or any other contaminating substances. Compliance inspections may be conducted to ensure adherence to these prohibitions. Violators may be subject to scheduling delays, additional charges, and monetary sanctions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
