The Georgia Ports Authority has promoted Charles Pennington from Director of Human Resources to Vice President of Human Resources. The announcement was made by Chief Human Resources Officer Lise Altman. Pennington joined GPA in 2019 as a Human Resources Manager, having previously served as HR Manager for Coastal Logistics Group. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University and a Senior Professional Human Resources certification, and brings 15 years of industry experience to the role. GPA President Kevin Price emphasised that business performance is driven by people, expressing confidence that Pennington’s leadership and experience will help the organisation reach its full potential and strengthen its competitive position in the marketplace. Pennington expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him by GPA’s leadership team, noting that as the authority invests in future infrastructure, its people remain its greatest asset and the defining force behind its service standards. GPA’s ten-year strategic plan calls for US$ 5 billion in infrastructure investment, including five big-ship container berths at the Port of Savannah and a fourth RoRo berth at the Port of Brunswick, the nation’s largest RoRo port.
