The new guidance, which has been informed by growing experience and knowledge of the virus, has been produced as version 3 of Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Guidance for Ship Operators for the Protection of the Health of Seafarers. In addition to an updated introduction reflecting lessons learned over the period since the pandemic began, the guidance adds two new annexes on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing and managing multiple cases of COVID-19 on board vessels. This guidance should be read in conjunction with COVID-19 – Protocols to Mitigate the Risks of Cases On Board Ships.
