Emirates SkyCargo is reinforcing its role in supporting India’s export ambitions, operating more than 3,000 tonnes of weekly air cargo capacity across nine gateways and connecting Indian businesses, manufacturers and exporters to markets across the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa and beyond. India handles an estimated 2.2 million tonnes of international air cargo annually, and Emirates SkyCargo plays a significant role within this ecosystem. During fiscal year 2025/26, Emirates SkyCargo transported over 153,000 tonnes of Indian exports, spanning pharmaceuticals, perishables, high-tech electronics, engineering and automotive components and fashion goods. On a weekly basis, the carrier transports more than 650 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and over 600 tonnes of fresh food and perishables from India via Dubai to global destinations. Seasonal exports included close to 2,900 tonnes of Indian mangoes transported to global customers between April and June 2026. Beyond its online gateway network, Emirates SkyCargo provides connectivity to offline locations across Indian states through an extensive road feeder network, which transported more than 4,500 tonnes of import and export cargo over the past 12 months, extending global network access to businesses outside gateway cities. The carrier has also recently deployed freighter aircraft to three additional Indian gateways to further support customer requirements. Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, described India as a strategic market whose fast-growing economy and expanding manufacturing base are strengthening its position as a global export hub.
