Electrical cable provider LS Cable & System and its subsidiary LS Marine Solution have won contracts for supplying and installing cables on an offshore wind project in South Korea. The two companies will work on the 532MW Anma offshore wind project after being chosen as the preferred bidders back in 2023. LS Marine Solution will be in charge of laying the cables that will connect the offshore wind farm to the mainland. The deal is worth KRW 94bn ($68m), while LS Cable & System’s contract is worth KRW 177bn ($128m). Construction is set to start later in the year. The commissioning of the wind farm is scheduled for 2029. Anma was among five developments awarded a share of nearly 1.9GW in offshore wind capacity by the South Korean government at the end of last year. It is being developed by a consortium of Equis Development, Jeonnam Development Corporation, Korea Wind Corporation, Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power, and Hyundai Engineering and Construction.
