FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin United European Car Carriers (UECC) is expanding its fleet of eco-friendly Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) with the order of two additional LNG dual-fuel battery hybrid vessels from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard Nanjing. The new 3,000 CEU-capacity ships will complement two larger 4,500 CEU PCTCs already on order, scheduled for delivery in 2028. UECC’s total fleet will then include nine dual-fuel LNG and multi-fuel hybrid PCTCs. Developed with the Shanghai Ship Research & Design Institute (SDARI), the vessels feature multi-fuel LNG engines, advanced propulsion technology, aerodynamic hulls, shore power capability, and a ballast-free design.
