Emergency Contact Updated European Union Sanctions in respect of Crimea and Sevastopol Home Latest updates Publications Updated European Union Sanctions in respect of Crimea and Sevastopol 12 Aug 2014 Download page as PDF Sign up for alerts Updated European Union Sanctions in respect of Crimea and Sevastopol Circular 11 – 2014 12th August 2014 To All Members, In response to the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia, the European Union published Regulation 692/2014 of 23rd June 2014, introducing trade sanctions in respect of goods originating in Crimea or Sevastopol and on the provision, directly or indirectly, of financing or financial assistance, as well as insurance and reinsurance, related to the import of such goods. On 30th July the European Union published Regulation 825/2014 amending Regulation 692/2014. This circular therefore supplements circular 9 - 2014. The most notable amendments add further to the prohibitions in Article 2, which we have noted below. We strongly encourage our Members to undertake due diligence in order to satisfy themselves that they do not expose their operations or the Club to sanctions under this regulation or any other sanctions, prohibitions or restrictions under United Nations resolutions, sanction laws or regulation of the European Union, United Kingdom or United States of America.
