French shipping firm says container ship ‘target of attack’ in Hormuz in International Shipping News 06/05/2026 The Maltese-flagged container ship “San Antonio,” owned by the French shipping company CMA CGM, was “attacked” Tuesday in the Strait of Hormuz, CMA CGM confirmed Wednesday morning. The attack resulted in “injuries among the crew members,” who were “evacuated and treated,” and caused “damage” to the vessel, CMA CGM added in a brief statement to AFP. The British maritime safety agency UKTMO had reported that a cargo ship was struck Tuesday around 6:30 PM GMT by a “projectile of unknown origin” in the Strait of Hormuz, without identifying it.
