The Port of Bilbao has welcomed the MSC Ruby, the largest container ship ever to call at the Spanish port. Operated by MSC, the vessel measures 366 metres in length and 48 metres in width. It has a capacity of 13,000 TEUs. MSC Ruby en puerto de Bilbao The MSC Ruby arrived at CSP Iberian Bilbao Terminal from Sines at 7:00 a.m. It is scheduled to depart on Thursday for Le Havre. The terminal handled the vessel using its new Super Post-Panamax Ship-to-Shore (STS) crane. The terminal has a 21-metre draft, allowing it to accommodate large container vessels. According to the Port of Bilbao, the new crane increases the terminal’s operational capacity and improves productivity and efficiency by using the latest cargo-handling technology.
