Monaco-based product tanker owner Scorpio Tankers has locked in long-term cover for two LR2s while agreeing to sell three ships, a move set to boost its cash position by about $110m. The New York-listed company said it has fixed the 2017-built 110,000 dwt STI Rambla for eight years at $30,500 per day. The charter is expected to begin in the first or second quarter of 2026. A second LR2, STI Lombard, has been fixed for five years at $33,000 per day, also starting in the first half of next year. Alongside the charter deals, Scorpio has sealed deals to sell two 2015-built scrubber-fitted MR tankers, STI Seneca and STI Osceola, for $35m each, and the 2015-built scrubber-fitted LR2 STI Solidarity for $60m. The sales are scheduled to close in the first or second quarter of 2026. The three vessels are financed under the company’s 2023 $1bn credit facility and have a combined outstanding debt balance of $20.2m.
