Greece’s Latsco Shipping is expanding its footprint in the containership sector with newbuildings in China. Shipbuilding sources in Greece have linked the Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis-led diversified owner, traditionally linked to tankers and gas carriers, to a deal for two 1,900 teu vessels at Huangpu Wenchong. The CSSC-affiliated yard is scheduled to deliver the duo in 2027 for $31m each. Latsco, with a fleet of over 30 ships, stepped into the container shipping segment in 2022 with a pair of 1,900 teu newbuilds. The Imabari-built boxships were originally ordered by Japanese owner Shoei Kisen. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsGreece
