To the Owners of vessels which carry passengers and to Marine Insurance Brokers Dear Sirs SOLAS 1992 AMENDMENTS APPLICABLE TO PASSENGER SHIPS BUILT BEFORE 1 October 1994 Certain of the above captioned amendments take effect on 1 October 1997 for passenger vessels built before 1 October 1994. These relate to improvements in fire detection, fire protection and fire extinction. The Association wishes to ascertain that these important safety requirements are being fully complied with by our Members. To this end we would be most grateful if you would forward copies of each vessel's "Passenger Ship Safety Certificate" and "Statement of Compliance" with SOLAS 1992 amendments.
