Dutch winch manufacturer Dijvler is expanding into the seagoing vessel market with a new range of anchor and mooring winches, having already secured orders from Damen Cargo Vessels and Briese Schiffahrt. The move follows Dijvler’s acquisition of C-Nautical’s designs, drawings, certifications and related rights. The company has spent the past two years reviewing and standardizing the designs to create a new product range for cargo vessels and offshore support vessels, with the first deliveries expected in 2027. New winch range targets seagoing vessels Dijvler has supplied more than 2,000 winches to the inland waterway and short-sea sectors since its establishment in 1977. The new programme extends that experience into the wider seagoing market. The range has received type approval from Bureau Veritas and Lloyd’s Register, including Marine Design Appraisal, and is certified under current ATEX requirements. Dijvler said the approvals will allow it to move more quickly from customer enquiries to detailed engineering and production. Production will primarily take place at a partner facility in China, while Dijvler will retain responsibility for design, quality assurance and aftersales support from the Netherlands. Its facility in Hardinxveld-Giessendam also provides the option to manufacture equipment in Europe. For vessels being constructed in China, the production setup will allow shipyards to source the equipment locally while owners and operators retain access to Dijvler’s European service network. First orders secured Dijvler has already received several orders from Damen Cargo Vessels and Briese Schiffahrt, with deliveries scheduled over the coming years. The company is also in discussions with other shipyards and has renewed contact with former C-Nautical customers. “The exits we saw in this market were ultimately the result of a race to the bottom on price.
