The naming ceremony of 174,000 m3 LNG carrier, Diamond Gas Nexus , was held at HD Hyundai Samho in South Korea on September 18 , NYK said in an announcement today. The vessel is chartered on a long-term time-charter contract to Diamond Global Energy (DGE) , a Singapore -based wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation . It is equipped with WinGD dual-fuel marine engine. “The vessel is equipped with the latest WinGD dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engine, which can use both fuel oil and boil-off as fuel,” NYK said. “In addition, the vessel is equipped with a sub-cooler that cools the cargo and suppresses the generation of excess boil-off gas, thereby improving transportation efficiency and reducing environmental impact.” Ship & Bunker News Team To contact the editor responsible for this story email us at [email protected] Also in the News Flexible Fuel Strategies Will Help Operators Adapt to Energy Transition: Auramarine CEO Auramarine CEO John Bergman says cruise and ferry operators need greater fuel flexibility as they navigate changing regulations and environmentally sensitive waters.
