Nigeria is and remains a key trading nation in Africa, being host to the continent's largest economy. Both as an export nation, as well as an import nation, it is very significant. It has a large, young, population and produces a number of significant raw resources. While oil and gas are amongst the most well-known products, Nigeria produces a number of other resources. It is also a significant market for imports such as cement and rice. Nigeria is also a country facing a number of challenges and the security and claims environment can be very challenging. Last year's Ebola outbreak added a serious complicating factor, not least when it came to the issue of dealing with stowaway incidents relating to Nigerian persons.
