26 April 2001 TO ALL MEMBERS’ TECHNICAL STAFF Dear Sirs THE INTERNATIONAL TANKER OWNERS POLLUTION FEDERATION LTD (ITOPF) MEMBERSHIP HANDBOOK 2001/2002 ITOPF provide advice to tanker and non-tanker owners regarding response to oil spills as outlined in Club Circular 5:267 of 5 January 1999. The Circular advised Members that owners of vessels entered in the Club will automatically be registered as Members (in the case of tankers) or as Associate Members (in the case of non-tankers) of ITOPF, unless they were specifically to instruct the Club to the contrary. ITOPF Members and Associate Members have priority access to the services offered (without fees). These services include oil spill response and advice, as well as receipt of free publications produced by ITOPF. One such publication is the latest ITOPF Handbook, which is enclosed with this circular. ITOPF are particularly concerned that this handbook should be passed to the technical staff within each owning company and more specifically the person(s) responsible for oil pollution response. ITOPF recommend that relevant staff should be familiar with the main issues connected with oil spills, also the services offered and general information provided by ITOPF. Anyone requiring additional copies of the handbook should contact Sarah Leach at ITOPF directly at the following address: ITOPF Staple HallTel:+44 (0)20 7621 1255 Stonehouse CourtFax:+44 (0)20 7621 1783 87 – 90 HoundsditchEmail:central@itopf.com LONDON EC3A 7AXWebsite:www.itopf.com Yours faithfully A BILBROUGH & CO LTD (MANAGERS) 5:ITOPF
