FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin The world’s largest battery-electric ferry, China Zorrilla, has arrived in the Río de la Plata, with operator Buquebus welcoming the vessel to Nueva Palmira, Uruguay. Buquebus said authorities, public and private institutions, strategic partners and media representatives from Argentina, Uruguay and other countries gathered in Nueva Palmira to mark the vessel’s arrival. The China Zorrilla was built by Australian shipbuilder Incat for Buquebus and is designed to operate as a fully battery-electric ferry. The vessel measures 130 meters and is powered by a large battery-electric propulsion system.
