China SPRO – Update on Qianhe 1 June 2015 No.731 Download PDF (96KB) Members are referred to the previous Japan P&I News  No.726  dated 21 April 2015 and  No.728  dated 7 May 2015.    The International Group of P&I Clubs (IG) is continuing to monitor further developments in relation to the situation of Qianhe.  The latest situation is as follows;   žThe following Qianhe SPROs (Tianjin, Dalian, Qingdao, Shanghai, Xiamen, Shenzhen) are currently unable to perform their SPRO functions and those Members currently signed up to any of them will need to seek alternative SPRO cover. Those Members who are currently signed up to one of these Qianhe SPROs who are not likely to visit their areas within the next 30 days may wish to terminate their agreements and seek new SPRO cover. Alternatively, Members may wish to sign an addendum with Qianhe Ningbo on behalf of the affected Qianhe SPROs providing alternative arrangements on a voyage by voyage basis.  This addendum has potential shortcomings and, if Members wish to use this option, they should contact the Club for sample form of the addendum and discuss this measure with the Club.
