Ofiniti, the digital platform for maritime fuel operations, on Thursday (7 May) announced its partnership with non-governmental organisation SGMF to further simplify and standardise LNG bunker compatibility assessments. SGMF is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established to promote safety and industry best practice in the use of gaseous marine fuels. Together, they are developing standardised vessel data templates and automated compatibility checks, building on SGMF’s previous work and industry best practice. BASiL, SGMF’s safety distance modeling tool, will be integrated directly into FuelBoss, bringing those calculations into the same workflow with no double entry and no switching between tools. All of it will be embedded in the same platform the industry already uses for scheduling, safety checklists, and eBDN. “Every LNG bunkering operation requires a compatibility assessment before the hoses go on. Today, that process is largely manual, vessel data is exchanged over email, safety checks are done independently, and the results cannot be reused,” Ofiniti said. “We share the ambition to change that.” Ofiniti added the integration would bring less manual work, fewer errors and a consistent baseline across every LNG operation, with safety maintained and assessment time minimised.   Photo credit: Ofiniti Published: 11 May, 2026
