The tanker, intercepted by French forces at the end of May, had been held under administrative immobilization after authorities suspected it was operating under a false Cameroonian flag. French prosecutors said the company also committed to obtaining a lawful new flag, allowing the vessel to leave French waters following payment of the fine.
