News 29 Nov, 2016 UK to Enact New Limits Under 1996 Protocol to LLMC 1976 In our News Item of 4 June 2015 we reported that the increases to the limits of liability set out in the 1996 Protocol to the LLMC 1976 agreed at IMO would enter into force on 8 June 2015. The implementation of these new limits in the UK required specific legislation however and a statutory instrument - a copy of which can be found here  The Merchant Shipping Act 1995 - will enter into force on 30 November 2016.  This will ensure that the limits under the 1996 Protocol as enacted in the UK will match those set out in our June 2015 News Item.
