Greek owner Costamare has confirmed a supramax bulker sale and revealed multiple charter deals for its containership fleet. In its second-quarter earnings report, the New York-listed company has corroborated this month’s brokers’ reports on the deal for the 2009-built Oracle. While S&P sources suggest Vietnamese interests and a price tag of $12.5m, Costamare did not disclose the buyer but said the disposal of the 58,018 dwt ship should bring in about $4m in net sale proceeds when the transaction closes in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, the Konstantinos Konstantakopoulos-led company, which logged a second-quarter profit of $91m, disclosed seven new boxship fixtures, of which six on a forward basis for a minimum period of between two to three years, with revenues estimated at $224m. Costamare’s containership fleet employment stands at 100% and 88% for 2024 and 2025, respectively. The total contracted revenues amount to $2.4bn with a remaining time charter duration of 3.5 years. On the dry bulk side, the company also confirmed the addition of two 2012-built capesize ships and securing more than 25 charter deals for its owned bulkers since the first-quarter earnings release. Costamare entered the dry sector in 2021 and today owns 38 bulkers with a capacity of about 2.83m dwt, including the supramax agreed for sale. The company also has a 54-strong trading platform consisting of newcastlemaxes, capes and kamsarmaxes. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsGreece
