A merican Club Circular No. 23/1 9 1 JULY 8, 2019 CIRCULAR NO. 23/19 TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Dear Member: LOSS PREVENTION: HEAT-RELATED ILLNESSES The American Club has recently experienced an increase in illness claims related to heat exposure. In order to supply a loss prevention response to this trend, the Club has worked with Wise Health Inc. Seafarer Outreach to produce podcasts and written guidance to enhance seafarers’ awareness of measures to prevent such illnesses. The podcasts describe heat-related illnesses, discuss proactive measures to prevent them and also share personal experiences in reinforcement of the basic message. Heat-Related Illnesses: Loss Prevention and Awareness recaps and summarizes the types of heat-related illnesses and their symptoms in order to detect and prevent them.
