At the same time, U.S. special forces detained President Maduro and, as has since been confirmed, flew him to the United States. The situation in the country remains uncertain, and heightened security measures have been implemented across the country, while further military action cannot be excluded. Initial information from our local correspondents indicates that La Guaira, the only commercial port reportedly affected by the airstrikes, has been militarized and placed under restricted access. The ports of Puerto Cabello, Maracaibo, and Guanta are reported to be operating normally. Operations along the Orinoco River and at the Jose Terminal are also reported to be ongoing. The current security environment presents an increased risk of sudden operational disruption, particularly at ports under military control, while at the same time, further escalation and war-related risks in the country cannot be excluded. We recommend that members avoid Venezuelan waters if at all possible. If it is necessary to sail to the area, we advise maintaining regular contact with local agents and ensuring that voyage and port risk assessments are kept under review.
