Image Credit: Seascale Energy Seascale Energy co-CEO Olivier Josse will step down from his role and retire from Cargill on  December 14 , after 36 years with the company. Gaetan Perret , currently Head of Marine Fuel Procurement at Cargill, will succeed Josse as Vice President, Marine Fuels at Cargill and co-CEO of Seascale Energy alongside Hafnia's  Peter Grünwaldt , the firm announced Monday . Seascale Energy, the marine fuels joint venture of commodities firm Cargill and tanker company Hafnia , was launched in May 2025 . Josse joined Cargill in 1990 and held leadership positions across its trading and chartering businesses. He joined Cargill’s Ocean Transportation business in 2006 and its leadership team in 2010. He helped establish Seascale Energy in 2025 and has served as co-CEO since the joint venture began operations. “ The joint venture procures about 8 million mt/year of marine fuels  “OJ has spent 36 years building businesses and developing people at Cargill, most recently through Seascale Energy,” Jan Dieleman , President of Cargill’s Ocean Transportation business, said The joint venture procures around 8 million mt of marine fuel annually for more than 50 third-party members.
