Dutch subsea contractor N-Sea Group is set to expand its fleet after securing a long-term charter for a new offshore support vessel currently under construction in the Netherlands. The vessel, named Dominus, is being built by Passer at Shipyard De Hoop in Tolkamer and will be chartered from Dutch owner Rederij Groen. Construction has now moved into full swing following the keel-laying ceremony held in the final week of February. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for April 2027. At nearly 70 metres in length, the newbuild is being designed for subsea survey and offshore support work in the demanding conditions of the North Sea. The vessel will be capable of carrying out geophysical and subsea activities, including 2D and 3D seismic surveys as well as wide-swath unexploded ordnance (UXO) surveys. According to the project partners, the vessel will be fitted with Tier III engines and diesel-electric propulsion to reduce emissions. For N-Sea, the new vessel forms part of a broader fleet expansion programme aimed at strengthening its subsea and offshore survey offering.
