A merican Club Circular No. 1 6 /20 1 APRIL 17, 2020 CIRCULAR NO. 16/20 TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Dear Member: PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS (PEME) AND COVID-19: AN UPDATE Port state COVID-19 prevention and mitigation policies continue to challenge Members’ plans for arranging changes of crew in many parts of the world. In response to this reality, and superseding previous policy notified in Circular No. 09/20 of March 20, 2020, your Managers are further extending the validity of American Club PEME certificates to May 31, 2020 for seafarers originating from Bulgaria, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Philippines, Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation and Ukraine who: (1) currently hold valid American Club PEME certificates due to expire before May 31, 2020; and (2) are currently employed onboard a vessel entered for P&I cover with the Club. For seafarers awaiting deployment, the current requirements remain in effect as summarized at: https://www.american-club.com/page/pemes As always, the Managers will be pleased to respond to all enquiries arising from the above.
