This may be linked to the current military actions in the region and may be expected to increase further. The Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) have published an advisory note in this regard, highlighting that the maritime threat level remains ‘ELEVATED’. Any disruption to GNSS has a substantial effect on ships navigation, and navigators should remain vigilant at all times to identify any loss of automatic position fixing data. The club has produced guidance on GNSS jamming and spoofing and on Operating in areas of tension or conflict.
