The Korea Ocean Business Corporation (KOBC) Container Composite Index (KCCI) rose 11.88% week-on-week to 3,747 points, driven by higher container export spot rates from Busan on most international trade routes. Among the main trades, the KCCI increased 17.13% to 5,729 points on the U.S. West Coast route and 13.77% to 6,832 points on the U.S. East Coast route. The index also climbed 14.64% to 4,566 points for Europe and 9.78% to 5,768 points for the Mediterranean. Non-main trade lanes recorded gains as well. The Middle East route rose 4.57% to 6,681 points, while Australia increased 8.95% to 2,813 points. The east coast of Latin America surged 14.57% to 7,320 points, and the west coast of Latin America gained 12.43% to 5,380 points. Southern Africa and West Africa also advanced by 4.05% and 4.11%, respectively. Within Asia, however, the picture was mixed. The China route remained unchanged at 54 points, while Southeast Asia fell 5.03% to 1,096 points and Japan declined 4.04% to 214 points.
