FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has warned crews aboard oil tankers near ports in Kuwait and Bahrain to immediately leave their vessels, saying the ships could be targeted in retaliation for US attacks on Iranian tankers. The warning followed US strikes on five Iranian crude oil carriers on September 8. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces destroyed M/T Kaviz, M/T Charminar, M/T Horizon 1 and M/T Riesco in the Gulf of Oman, as well as M/T Derya near Kharg Island. Crews were directed to abandon the vessels before they were struck and rendered inoperable.
