Today, The Poseidon Principles for Marine Insurance (PPMI) has issued its third annual disclosure report, which provides insights into PPMI's climate alignment, including Skuld, and the support from affiliate members. This year’s report aligns with the IMO’s 2023 revised GHG strategy, introducing a well-to-wake approach and modelled data for climate alignment assessments. These changes to the methodology  enhance transparency and set a benchmark for the marine insurance industry’s role in supporting shipping’s transition to net zero by 2050. The results indicate that the eligible portfolio across the industry is falling short of the IMO trajectory. For shipping to align with climate goals, every reduction effort must be embraced.
