Maersk will revise its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from Far East Asia to Mexico, the West Coast of South America, Central America and the Caribbean (C1E). The revised surcharge will take effect on 3 August 2026 for most origins. Shipments from South Korea will be subject to the new rates from 14 August 2026. The surcharge will remain in place until further notice. The carrier will apply a surcharge of US$750 per 20-foot dry and reefer container and US$1,500 per 40-foot and 45-foot dry and reefer container. The revised PSS applies to cargo originating from countries across Far East Asia, including China, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and other regional markets. The destination scope covers Mexico, the West Coast of South America, Central America and several Caribbean countries. Maersk said the surcharge applies to a wide range of equipment types, including dry containers, reefers, flat racks, open tops, tanks and other special equipment.
