Netherlands-based shortsea operator Longship Group has ordered a series of four 6,000 dwt vessels, with an option for an additional four ships. The newbuilding project for the so-called Pmax Eco Trader vessels will be a collaboration between GS Projects and Ship and Steelbuilding (SaS) at the Dutch shipyard in Waterhuizen and Groot Ship Design. The series is scheduled for delivery starting in 2026 and is designed for “highly efficient fuel consumption and advanced eco-friendly technologies”, Longship said. Longship was founded in 2009 and has since established a footprint in the European shortsea trade.
