InterMoor has strengthened its foothold in Brazil after winning a three-year mooring asset integrity contract from Petrobras. The deal, signed months after the pair inked a memorandum of understanding, will see work begin in December 2025. InterMoor, part of Acteon’s moorings and anchors business line, will provide quality assurance and digital traceability services for Petrobras’ fleet of anchors, chains, wire and associated gear used across its offshore installations. The scope includes RFID tagging, visual and dimensional inspection, triage of returned components and the rollout of 3D scanning and photogrammetry to modernise how Petrobras tracks and manages critical mooring equipment. Work will be carried out at Petrobras facilities in Rio de Janeiro and Macaé, with scope to expand to additional sites. “This award is a strong endorsement of our long-standing partnership with Petrobras and our commitment to the safe, efficient management of critical offshore infrastructure,” said David McGuire, executive vice president of InterMoor. He added that integrating digital inspection and monitoring tools would give Petrobras better visibility and faster decision-making capability across its equipment lifecycle.
