ADVISORIES ARE AVAILABLE AT http://www.pancanal.com FOR ETAS OR DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH OUR OFFICES, REFER TO NOTICE N-3-2021 Panama Canal Authority Vice Presidency for Operations Advisory to Shipping No. A-04-2021 January 15, 2021 TO : All Shipping Agents, Owners, and Operators SUBJECT: Correction to the Mooring Requirements published in OP Notice to Shipping N-01-2021, Vessel Requirements The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) hereby issues a correction to the amount of winch drums that should be available on deck at the bow and the stern of transiting vessels for the mooring lines to be used during mooring operations at the locks, established in item “b”, Section 9, Mooring Lines, Anchors and Deck Machinery of OP Notice to Shipping N-01-2021, Vessel Requirements, published on January 1, 2021. The corrected section shall read as follows: b. Four (4) of the lines on the bow and four (4) of the lines on the stern shall be stowed in winch drums and ready to be used on either side of the vessel during the mooring procedure at the locks. LNG/LPG tankers or novel design vessels may be determined to require additional lines be provided in winch drums. Wires in the drums are not acceptable and must be replaced with manila or synthetic mooring lines before initiating the transit. Please disregard the previous requirement for six (6) winch drums at the bow and the stern that was published in OP Notice to Shipping N-01-2021. ORIGINAL SIGNED Ilya R.
